Intervention strategies to build confidence in their academic skills.

Use of the Sonday program which is a structured, systematic, multisensory reading intervention for readers at the beginning stages of reading through the end of the 2nd-grade reading level. Each lesson plan uses proven Orton-Gillingham methods to provide effective intervention.

Use of Anita Archer’s - Rewards program for older students to teach multisyllabic words and increase fluency.

Experience with Houghton-Mifflin, Everyday Math, Board Math, and Eureka Math programs.  I use these programs to build upon and introduce Math strategies for better understanding.

Introduce and build executive function skills:

Miss C has been working with my son for the past 9 months and is a true pleasure. She is always prepared, compassionate, caring and organized. She comes to every session with a smile on her face and is ready to work from the second she walks in the door. She works with him on organization, math, reading  and writing and gives him instruction on how to solve problems and helps him understand the concepts. She knows how to adjust her instruction if  needed and makes each session fun. She is extremely flexible and rolls with the punches and adjusts her lesson plans to coincide with what he is working on in school and also lets us know how he is doing based on his current grade. She has been a godsend in a very difficult year in providing in person instruction when that wasn’t available. We are so thankful for Miss C every day!
